Nice to meet you!

My name is Suzanne Boymans and I am 27 years old. I live in the Netherlands with my dog and cat.

I have been into fashion for as long as I can remember. My grandma put me behind the sewing machine when I was nine and I fell, head over heels, in love with the craftsmanship. All I wanted to do from that point on is learn the craft and make the garments. My parents put me on sewing lessons because I would pull out the sewing machine every change I got.

After high school I went to the Jeanschool in Amsterdam and had an absolutely amazing time there. A love for denim was born. The washings and the challenges those faced in keeping it as sustainable as possible were my favourite learning experiences.

After the Jeanschool I had a year in between schools. I wanted to work and I wanted savings for my next step. Which was the Meester opleiding Coupeur in Amsterdam. I had wanted to go to this school since I was 16 and I finally got to go! A dream come true. I learned so much and the base for all that is to come in my career is thanks to the amazing teachers that I had there!

After school I started in a bridal shop altering wedding dresses. I worked there for 6 months when I found work in an atelier. There I made all the items for the website. It is there that I learned to work quicker and to simplify pattern to production patterns. It was a good work experience! But it was far away from home and it left me with little time for my own creativity.

I decided to quit my job and start on my own. I started with odd jobs here and there. Customers came to me through Instagram and I slowly started building my own little brand. At the moment I am making my dream of a made-to-order / made-to-measure brand a reality.
